Cartoon Crazy is a fun, anonymous way to share your comic artwork with others. But it can also be risky if you don’t know how to use it safely. Here’s our guide on how to use CartoonCrazy safely and privately – so that nobody sees your work and no one emails you asking for a copy of it.
How does Cartoon Crazy work?
Cartoon Crazy is a comic site where people share and comment on each other’s comics. Like many other drawing sites, you can send people your comics through email. However, there are some extra features with this site that make it unique. First, there’s the chat function. You can draw with others in the chat room, ask questions and make helpful suggestions, and your drawing is sent to the other people in the chat room. Then, there’s the secure gallery function – which is like an online portfolio. You can upload any number of images and share them with the world. You can also add descriptions for each image and set a price for your prints or other items you’re selling. Anyone who clicks on your images in the gallery sees the description and price you’ve set. Finally, there’s the “Trash” function – where you can upload drawings you don’t want to share but don’t want to lose them either. You can “trash” drawings so that they’re just empty pages that won’t show up in the gallery or in a comment.
Be careful with your email address
One of the most important things to remember when using Cartoon Crazy is to keep your email address private. When you sign up for an account, you’ll get an email with a password and email address to set up your account. Make sure you use a password that’s secure so that only you have access to it. And make sure your email address is safe. You can’t be too careful these days. Hackers try to steal people’s account data all the time. And they’re often very sophisticated, using methods like phishing to trick people into giving up their information. So you want to make sure that when you share your email address, you’re doing it safely. The best way to do that is to use a separate email address for your Cartoon Crazy account. You can use a throwaway address, like “email@example.com”, or you can create a new email address entirely.
Set up an anonymous email address for your artwork
When you upload images to your portfolio, you can also add a “From” line in your profile. That line will show up in any of your comments that include the URL for your images. (You can also add it to your gallery description.) If you put “From: your-secured-cartoon-crazy-email-address” in the “From” line, you’ll show up as the person who created the images. But no one will be able to see your original email address, which is good if you’re worried about hackers. If you don’t want to add a “From” line to your profile, you can use a throwaway email address. One way is to use Gmail’s “New message” feature to create a new email address that only exists for this one use. Then, use that address when you want to send a new message to Cartoon Crazy.
Use a VPN to mask your location
When you draw in the gallery, your drawings are saved to Cartoon Crazy’s cloud server. You can also save your drawings to your computer’s hard drive. One way to keep your drawings safe and secure is to mask your computer’s real IP address. Doing that means that anybody looking at your drawings on a server will see a different IP address than the one they see when they visit that server themselves. If you mask your IP address with a virtual private network, no one in the world will be able to connect to your computer to view your drawings. They’ll only see the IP address of the server you’re drawing on. A virtual private network will also keep your connection private so that you and other people who use the same VPN can browse websites without being tracked or seen. But a VPN is better than nothing, so we also recommend using it with a throwaway email address.
